Prior to establishing Dennis Piper & Associates, P.C. in 1993, Dennis
served as controller for a large distribution company. This hands on approach
as a controller has helped Dennis understand what it takes to be a successful
entrepreneur. We get to know our clients business operations and information
needs, then implement their accounting and management information systems
accordingly. Our success will depend on the success of our customers.
Marian Linton, CPA is a Certified QuickBooks
ProAdvisor and our lead instructor for
QuickBooks
Seminars. She partners with several of the
regions top Small Business Development Centers to enhance the
use of QuickBooks
for the business and nonprofit professional. Marian has over 20 years of
diverse accounting experience, which includes general accounting, cash
management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial and management
reporting, federal and multi-state taxes, and personal computer applications.
Prior to working with Dennis Piper & Associates, Marian was the General
Accounting Manager for MetPath Laboratories, a medical reference laboratory
(formerly known as Med-Chek Laboratories, Inc.).
Debra Shutak, CPA is an Advanced Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. She
has over 20 years progressive experience in public accounting encompassing all
aspects of accounting, taxes, and payroll services. As the Tax Manager of
Client Accounting for TruServ Corporation, Debra gained valuable experience
performing personal and business tax compliance and payroll applications for
all fifty states. Previous management of a medical laboratory payroll
provided experience in complex payroll applications including multistate,
pretax & various fringe benefit payroll issues. Multicompany acquisitions
provided experience in blending various payroll applications and schedules to
one integrated payroll and schedule.
Brian Beerman, CPA directs our audit
practice under the firm, Beerman, Piper & Associates,
LLC. Brian has over 19 years of experience including 16 years with the audit
practice of the national accounting firm, Ernst & Young. Brian has
performed the audits of many publicly and privately held companies and has
extensive experience working with nonprofit organizations. Brian also provides
advisory services on a wide array of business and accounting issues including
business combinations,
cash flow forecasting, budgeting, profit improvement
initiatives, and internal audit.
Connie Choncek, MBA is an Advanced Certified
QuickBooks ProAdvisor and teaches seminars designed to improve the
non-profit organizations use of QuickBooks. She has 13
years of accounting experience, which includes preparing tax returns and
external reports for nonprofits. Connie is well versed in integrating
QuickBooks with an organization's accounting needs. Connie's previous
employment includes working as a Senior Reconciliation & Control Accountant
for Federated Investors, Inc.
Cleveland Piper, E.A. has been an enrolled
agent for six years. He has 14 years of experience working as a Controller and
Tax Accountant in the state of Maryland. Cleveland's previous employment has
included working as the Controller for J. H. Burton & Sons, Inc. Cleveland
graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Business
Administration & Management.
Helen Fischer is a 2003 graduate from Seton Hill University
with a B.S. in Accounting and has worked with Dennis Piper & Associates
since 2000. She is an
Advanced Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor and a Certified
QuickBooks Point of Sale ProAdvisor. Prior to working with Dennis, she worked
for Dollar Bank in the Student Loan and Consumer Loan Operations Departments.
Rachel Keck is an Advanced Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. She graduated of University of Pittsburgh in 2004 with a Bachelors degree in Business Management and Accounting. Prior
to working with DPA, she has two years of corporate accounting experience with
Education Management Corporation.
Xiaohan Li, MBA, MSA is a 2005 graduate
from Duquesne University with her MBA and 2007
with her Master of Science in Accountancy
Xiaohan has worked for Dennis Piper & Associates
since 2005 and she is a Certified Quickbooks ProAdvisor.
Beverly Grimm, a graduate of Robert Morris University, is a strategic Accounting Professonal with broad-ranging expertise in many aspects of business and personal tax accounting. She has been active in public accounting for 19 years and also functions as a Controller for an architectural firm and a private Financial Consultant.
Leslie Fisher is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and has over 17 years of accounting experience in the architectural, engineering and non-profit fields. Her accounting experience includes payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections, financial statements, project management reporting, budgeting, and cash management. Prior to working for Dennis Piper, Leslie was the office manager for Lami Grubb Architects, LP.
Cathy Gall is a Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor. She is a 1988 graduate from Robert Morris University with a B.S. in Accounting. Prior to work with Dennis, Cathy has several years of QuickBooks experiences with clients including non-profits, retailers and a financial consulitng firm.
