Dennis Piper & Associates PC will be doing its part to not spread this terrible virus, by closing our office to all clients effective:
Today, Friday, March 20, 2020 at 5:00 pm and we will re-open the office when permitted to do so.
However, we won’t miss a beat, and all our clients’ tax returns will continue to be timely prepared, since all the Dennis Piper & Associates Team will be continuing to work remotely. We have all the encrypted technology to perform these services safely.
After today March 20, 2020, please call the office at 412-826-8600 during our normal business hours of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. If we are currently unavailable to take your call, please leave a detailed voice message and we will return your call as soon as possible.
If you wish to send us your tax information, you can use our encrypted tax portal by contacting us via phone or email at firstname.lastname@example.org to request a secure link.
You can also mail us (via trackable mail) your returns to the office, however, it may take us a little longer to receive that information due the office closing. So please let us know ahead of time if you are sending your information through those means.
We can also make arrangements for no contact pickup or delivery if electronic or mailing means are not available. But would prefer to keep this option as a last resort in order to protect the safety of all.
Remember it was announced that, individuals are able to defer up to $1 million and corporations are able to defer up to $10 million in taxes for up to 90 days without penalties or interest. So, most do have until July 15, 2020 to make any Federal Tax Payments. However (so far), returns will still need to be timely filed or extended by April 15, 2020. As this is changing daily the deadline could be extended to a later date. We will be ready for any deadline imposed, so it is important to keep sending your documents and information until a new deadline is announced.
**UPDATE – The Individual Tax Return (1040) filing deadline has been extended to JULY 15, 2020**
All other services including accounting and payroll services will be securely done remotely also, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to your accountant with any questions or concerns you may have.
